About Us

AndereWijn was founded in 2008 and has grown over the years into one of the most striking Dutch wine shops on the internet with an ever-increasing assortment of wines from many wine countries. We select only the best wines from forgotten grapes, from unknown vineyards or pressed by special winemakers. It is our mission to introduce you to unknown quality wines.

AndereWijn was founded and is still managed by Bernard Nauta. We are always looking for something new and surprising. We taste hundreds of wines per year. From these, we choose the wines that we consider to be of high quality and that have a special story. A story that makes the wine 'different' from the 'average wine at the liquor store'. We always use three criteria: we like to select wines from unknown wine countries or from unknown wine regions in known wine countries; we are fond of wines made from forgotten grapes (preferably with a name that is difficult to pronounce); or the wine is made by a winemaker who has a completely different philosophy than his colleagues in the region, for example because he works biodynamically or makes natural wines.

We work with passionate importers

We are constantly expanding our range by continuing to taste and discover. We are importing more and more wines ourselves. And we like to work with small importers, more than thirty in total. These are often passionate enthusiasts who have specialized in a country or region. They regularly visit to meet the winemakers, taste and select the best wines. And we then pick out the most interesting wines. If you are such an importer, please feel free to contact us.

We like it when you call

And we like personal contact. Many customers call or email us with suggestions, questions or tips. We like that and that is why you will find our telephone number 070 2111561 on every page of our website.
