Cave d'Occi Flamingo

Pinot Noir is pretty much the Saab of grape varieties. This Burgundy grape doesn't rely on bling or muscle, but rather on refinement and lightness. Many discerning wine lovers are captivated by it. For them, we have selected this Japanese 'Lexus' from Niigata Prefecture.

Light red and initially slightly sulfurous on the nose. Has fresh fruit notes of berries, raspberries, and wild strawberries. Also somewhat nutty and spicy, with good structure supported by tannins. Once you know it, it is recognizably Pinot Noir, yet certainly different from what you are used to.
