Monica
Sardenian red from the Monica grape. We also had to look it up. Monica appears to have been in Sardinia for centuries. Appears there in many capacities. As a weekday dry red, as a sparkling festive wine, and even as a sweet treat with dessert. Monica doesn't like to leave her island.
This one from Cantina di Dolianova did take the boat. She has the spiciness of a maggi plant and she has fresh acidity that makes her pleasantly drinkable. You taste the fruit of blackberries, red berries and black cherries. With typical Italian spiciness and a hint of tannin. Serve pasta bolognese with it, which helps against her homesickness.

Sardinia

Sardinia is a paradise island for adventurous wine drinkers. There are dozens of forgotten grape varieties, the wine of which rarely reaches land. The vineyards are spread across the island. Most winegrowers are small artisanal. They produce no more than a few hundred hectoliters per year.
