Blasio Cannonau di Sardegna Riserva

Blasio Cannonau di Sardegna Riserva

Italy
2019 Italy | Sardinia
Cannonau
In France they call it Grenache, in Spain they call it Garnacha. But in Sardinia, Italy, they have called it Cannonau for centuries. They press the most highly regarded red on the island from it. Can compete effortlessly with French and Spanish rivals. Especially if it is a Riserva, such as this one from Cantine di Dolianova.
Has sultry ripe plums, cherry liqueur, tobacco and cedar wood in the nose. Nine months of aging in wood gives it depth and breadth. This is a sultry, warm red that tastes of cherries, plums, rosemary and currants. Very tasty with roasted lamb.

Sardinia

Sardinia is a paradise island for adventurous wine drinkers. There are dozens of forgotten grape varieties, the wine of which rarely reaches land. The vineyards are spread across the island. Most winegrowers are small artisanal. They produce no more than a few hundred hectoliters per year.
