Davino Purpura Valahica

For this wine, the Davino winery selected their best Fetească Neagră grapes, with deep purple-red, ripe and concentrated juice. Aged in small barriques of Romanian oak. They call him Purpura Valahica, or 'Purple from Wallachia', the Romanian province where he comes from. A powerful wine in which the specific character of the Fetească Neagră is clearly expressed. You smell blueberries, sultry sweet blackberries and a striking cocoa spiciness. You can taste that too. With a little cherry liqueur, lots of spices, persuasiveness and a spicy alcohol percentage. Not a drinks wine, but a bottle to open with a duck breast, venison or a grilled rib-eye.
