Did you know?
You don't rarely see them, red wines made from pure Bonarda Piemontese juice. The winemakers who press wine from it can be counted on one hand. They come from the hills of Tortona in Piedmont. The idiosyncratic winemaker Daniele Ricci is one of them. He fermented his Bonarda on wild yeasts, matured for 12 months in acacia wood barrels and bottled it unfiltered. This produces a characteristic, fresh red wine. In the scent you will recognize cherries, blackcurrants, blackberries and violets. It tastes like fresh young cherries and blackcurrants. Elegant and drinkable, but be careful: the alcohol counter is quite high, even if you wouldn't say so.| Color: | Red | Taste profile: | Full bodied | Country: | Italy |

Piemonte, in the northwest of Italy, has become a well-known wine region mainly thanks to two iconic wines: Barolo and Barbaresco. Powerful red wines from the Nebbiolo grape that can ripen for a long time. The popular Barbera d'Alba and Moscato d'Asti also come from Piemonte. And then we forget dozens of lesser-known wines that are eagerly picked from the shelves of the liquor store by enthusiasts.
Bart Oomen, Vianen

Druif: Croatina. Vol en krachtig. Veel tertiaire tonen als leer, donkere chocolade, hout. Kruidig, rijp zwart fruit. Dikke krachtpatser die gevaarlijk lekker doordrinkt.
