The Bobal is usually used for rosé wines. Because the red versions can sometimes be a bit clumsy and boring. Unless that red Bobal comes from a small, unique vineyard with 60 to 90 year old vines. Discovered by oenologist Santiago Vernia and the Spanish 'wine professor' José Luis Hidalgo. They don't pick more than one and a half kilos from a stick. And let the super-concentrated juice mature for a year and a half in new French oak.| Color: | Red | Taste profile: | Full bodied | Country: | Spain |

A third of all Spanish wine is made near Valencia. Most wine is exported. In the past, the quality sometimes left much to be desired. That has changed in recent years. In addition to large bulk producers, young winemakers are now active. For example, very nice red wines are made in Valencia from the Bobal grape.
