The Carignan was still the most planted grape in France in the late 1980s. Château Ksara still has vines that are more than sixty years old. 1200 meters above sea level in the Lebanese Bekaa Valley. The plants are not tied up but are scattered in 'bush vines'; in bushes. They make the wine in concrete tanks, built long ago by Jesuit monks.| Color: | Red | Taste profile: | Medium body | Country: | Lebanon |

The Bekaa Valley is Lebanon's most important wine region, both qualitatively and quantitatively. The terroir is ideal for agriculture and, in particular, for viticulture. Unlike the rest of Lebanon, where it can be hot and dry, the climate here is temperate.
