Vermentino is an Italian grape that usually produces fresh white wine with an aroma of lime and nuts and lively acidity. These should be drunk young, ideally with fresh fish. The best (and pricier) Vermentino wines can be fairly full-bodied, with riper notes and more aging potential.
You'll find it in various Italian wine regions. The best Vermentino wines come from the island of Sardinia, where it is said to have been brought by the Spanish in the Middle Ages.
Vermentino is also one of the most important white grapes in the Italian Liguria region, and it also grows in Languedoc and Roussillon. It appears to be the same grape as, or at least related to, the Rolle grape from Provence.
We currently have three wines made from the Vermentino grape in our range. You can view our Vermentino wines here.
