The Limnio grape produces dark, powerful red wines with a distinctive aroma of fresh herbs and clearly discernible tannins. It is an indigenous Greek grape. Many Greek winemakers blend Limnio with Cabernet Sauvignon or Cabernet Franc.
The Limnio grape likely originated on the Greek island of Limnos, where it still grows. However, it has since been planted in various locations in Greece, including on the mainland near Thessaloniki and in the north, near the border with Bulgaria. It is likely one of the oldest grapes still used for winemaking. Aristotle even drank wine made from this grape.
We currently have one wine made from the Limnio grape in our range. You can view our Limnio wine here.
