The Greek Negoska grape produces deep red wines with soft tannins, moderate acidity, and a fair amount of alcohol. However, you won't easily find a wine made solely from Negoska. Negoska is used for blending.
The blending takes place in Goumenissa, in Greek Macedonia, and primarily with Xynómavro, which has a bit more acidity and could use the softening of the Negoska. Wine bottled under the Goumenissa appellation must contain at least 20% Negoska.
