This is what good wine from the Vijariego grape tastes like

White wine from the Vijariego grape (also known as Vigariego or Vijariega) usually comes from the Canary Islands, and occasionally from southern Spain's Granada. It is an old but fairly rare grape. Both still and sparkling wines are made from it, generally pleasantly fresh and not too alcoholic.

Vijariego probably originates from Andalusia, where it has now disappeared except for a few vineyards in Granada. On the Canary Islands it has been grown since the 15th century, and today around 500 hectares are planted there - a forgotten grape, in short. We ourselves know Vijariego mainly from Granada. In our opinion it is a quality grape with real potential.
