Wine and asperges à la Flamande pairings

Traditional asparagus with ham, egg and melted butter goes well with a soft, not too firm, fresh white wine.

Pinot Blanc from Alsace and Grüner Veltliner from Austria are true classics with this dish. Sauvignon Blanc or Riesling wines can also be a good combination with asparagus.

Of course, you don't have to limit yourself to these usual suspects. Dry muscat can be very nice with your asparagus. And what about a bottle of fresh Tsinandali from Georgia, to name something less obvious.
