In Burgenland, just below Vienna, Lake Neusiedl creates an ideal microclimate for wine growing. The vineyards on the marshy soils around the lake offer good conditions for noble rot. The dry white wines from Burgenland are fresh and lively, the reds elegant and fruity.

There are four regions in Burgenland: Neusiedlersee, Neusiedlersee-Hügelland, Mittelburgenland and Südburgenland.
Neusiedlersee lies between the shores of the lake and the Hungarian border. The 9,100 hectares of vineyards produce both fresh white wines and full-bodied, powerful red wines - Zweigelt in particular is starting to build a reputation of its own. And of course, we mustn't forget the great sweet wines from Neusiedlersee.
On the foothills of the Leitha Mountains, west of the lake, lies Neusiedlersee-Hügelland, where the real Austrian all-rounders in the wine world are located. In Neusiedlersee-Hügelland, young winemakers combine innovation with respect for centuries-old traditions. No other wine region in the country is home to as many different types of wines and grapes as this 4,150-hectare wine region.
In the 2,100 hectares of vineyards in Mittelburgenland, everything revolves around one grape: Blaufränkisch. The most important producers can be found in four towns: Deutschkreus, Horitschon, Lutzmannsburg and Neckenmarkt. The two cooperatives from Mittelburgenland prove that scale does not have to be an obstacle to high quality.
It is one of Austria's smallest wine regions, but Südburgenland has a lot to offer. The region has only 500 hectares of vineyards, but the vast majority is planted in one place: the Eisenberg. Blaufränkisch in particular gives a very unique spicy and mineral style. In addition, Südburgenland produces fresh white wines and the authentic, incomparable and very local Uhudler. We currently have fifteen wines from Burgenland in our range. You can view all our wines from Burgenland here.
