Kapistoni Danakharuli Qvevri

Every time we are in Georgia we come across a new, forgotten but found grape. At Kapistoni Winery we tasted a wine from the Danakharuli grape for the first time. Made in the qvevri. We are happy with that. Because Georgian red is often quite heavy with a lot of tannin. This wine from the Danakharuli grape is not.

Ruby red. Smells and tastes of cherries, blackcurrants, blackberries and coin licorice. Ripe and supple. Clean, pure natural wine. Needs some air and is then lively and seriously drinkable.
