Casal Figueira António Vital

Until recently, the Vital was a lost Portuguese grape. Only one winemaker believed in her: António Carvalho, advocate of forgotten grapes. He planted Vital in a vineyard in the mountains and pressed the only 'single variety' in the world from it: his Casal Figueira. Unfortunately, António died much too early. But his wife Marta Soares continues his life's work.

She makes a very pure, clean wine. Tight, with fine minerals, fresh lemon, some fennel and melon. A refined wine to accompany a nice piece of fried fish, such as redfish or cod tenderloin.
