Because our eastern neighbors wanted to make dark red wines in addition to transparent Spätburgunders, the Dornfelder, crossed in the last century, was welcomed with open arms. The Dornfelder has been on a steady rise for years. Excellent wines are pressed from it, especially in the Palatinate. For example, by the Stepp company, which, in addition to making wine, has elevated designing ultra-sleek labels to an art.| Color: | Red | Taste profile: | Medium body | Country: | Germany |

The Palatinate is one of the largest wine regions in Germany. It is a long strip in the middle of the country, from Bockenheim to the French Alsace. You will find mainly beautiful white wines from the Riesling and, by German standards, many red wines from the Dornfelder and the Spätburgunder. The winemakers of the Palatinate are innovative and like to experiment. A very contemporary wine region.
