Veneto is one of the most productive wine regions in Italy. Veneto stretches from Lake Garda to beyond Venice on the Adriatic coast. In addition to an impressive amount of moderate white wines, impressive Amarones, fruity Valpolicellas, sparkling Proseccos and fresh Soaves are pressed here. The best wines come from the West, from the vineyards around Verona.

The Soave is the most consumed white quality wine from Veneto worldwide. It owes its fine, delicate taste to the volcanic soil beneath the vineyards just east of Verona and to the Garganega grape, which is usually joined in the bottle by Trebbiano, Pinot Blanc or Chardonnay. A little further to Lake Garda, the Bianco di Custoza is made. Fresh white wines that offer great drinking pleasure and are reminiscent of not too pronounced Soave. No Soave, but also from this region, near Vicenze, is white wine from the scarce Vespaiolo grape.
The most famous is undoubtedly the Amarone della Valpolicella. Powerful, intoxicating wine, which owes its slightly sweet taste to the fact that the winemaker has allowed the grapes to dry before pressing them. Cheaper variants of the expensive Amarone are the Recioto and the Ripasso. The latter is made from Valpolicella wine, which is fermented again with the bruised skins of the Amarone and added yeast and sugar. The 'normal', dry Valpolicella can also be worthwhile, especially those from the 'Classico zone'. All red wines from Valpolicella are based on the Corvina grape.
Further to the east there are extensive vineyards on a soil of silt. They are the supplier of large quantities of not very interesting white slop wines. But they are also the birthplace of one of the recently most popular sparkling wines in the world: Prosecco. It is made from the grape of the same name and comes in very different qualities. Especially in recent years, a large number of very mediocre Proseccos have appeared on the market for a low price. It is not always possible to draw an arrow, but usually the better ones are a Spumante with DOC Prosecco classification. We currently have two wines from Veneto. in our range.
