Did you know?
Not exactly an everyday occurrence, this ice wine, made in eastern Georgia, at the foot of the Caucasus. The completely frozen Rkatsiteli grapes were picked in early December, when the outside temperature dropped to -9°C. It has a penetrating scent of apricots, peardrops, honey and ripe peach. On the palate, this ice wine is very complex and remarkably stimulating with lively acidity of fresh tropical fruit.| Color: | White | Taste profile: | Sweet | Country: | Georgia |

Kakheti in eastern Georgia is by far the country's most important wine region. More than two thirds of all Georgian wine comes from here. The area is best known for the red Saperavi grape and the white Rkatsiteli, and for the centuries-old tradition of making wine in qvevri, large clay vessels buried in the ground. Since 2013 this method has been on UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage.
