Wine and gebraden gans pairings

Roast goose has a fairly robust, spicy flavour. A spicy red wine with sufficient body and preferably a spicy spiciness goes well with it.

We advise you to choose a red wine from the region where goose is often on the menu: Central Europe. Every autumn, restaurants there invariably put goose on the menu. Austrian wines from Blaufränkisch or (strong) Zweigelt go well with goose. In Hungary, they like to drink Kékfrankos with it (the Hungarian name for Blaufränkisch).
